Booking Terms & Conditions
BOOKING TERMS & CANCELLATIONS
Last updated: September 2026
These terms apply to experiences, workshops, studio days, Camera Club sessions, remote sessions, tours, retreats and other creative services provided by The Atelier of Muses.
The Atelier of Muses is referred to below as “the Atelier”, “we”, “us” or “our”. The person making or attending a booking is referred to as “the participant” or “you”.
Any additional terms stated in an individual event description, quotation, invoice or booking confirmation form part of your agreement with us. Where event-specific terms differ from these general terms, the event-specific terms will take priority.
Making a Booking
An enquiry, verbal discussion or expression of interest does not reserve a date, time or participant place.
A booking is confirmed only when:
the required booking deposit or agreed first payment has been received in cleared funds; and
written confirmation has been issued by the Atelier.
By making a payment, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and any event-specific information supplied before booking.
If you make a booking on behalf of another participant, you confirm that you have their authority to do so and that they have been given these terms.
Booking Deposits
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a booking deposit of 50% of the total price is required to secure the date, time or participant place.
We may occasionally agree to accept a smaller deposit, a different initial payment or a personalised payment schedule. Any flexibility must be confirmed in writing and does not change the total amount payable.
The deposit forms part of the total booking price. It allows us to reserve your place and begin making financial and contractual commitments to models, studios, venues, accommodation providers, educators, stylists, crew and other suppliers.
Payment Plans
Monthly or staged payment plans may be available for selected bookings.
The payment amount, instalment dates and final balance deadline will be confirmed in writing. Participants are responsible for ensuring payments are made by the agreed dates.
If a payment is missed, please contact us promptly. We will make reasonable efforts to find a solution.
If payment remains overdue after written notice, we may release the place and treat the booking as cancelled by the participant.
Any cancellation charge will reflect the commitments made and the reasonable losses incurred by the Atelier.
Final Balances
The final balance deadline will be stated in the booking confirmation or payment schedule.
Different deadlines may apply to studio days, workshops, multi-model events and international experiences.
If the balance is not paid by the deadline and no alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing, we may cancel the booking and release the place.
Cancellations by a Participant
All cancellations must be made in writing by email or another written method acknowledged by the Atelier. The cancellation date will be the date on which we receive the written notice.
Any cancellation charge will take account of:
the amount of notice provided;
costs and commitments already made for the booking;
our ability to cancel or recover payments made to third parties;
whether the date, time or participant place can be resold; and
the reasonable losses caused by the cancellation.
Cancellation charges will not exceed the amount paid or due for the booking and will be limited to our reasonable losses and non-recoverable commitments, subject to your statutory rights.
Replacement Participants and Refilling a Place
If you cancel after the applicable refund deadline, any deposit or payment that would ordinarily be retained may still be returned if your place is successfully filled.
You may suggest a suitable replacement participant, subject to approval by the Atelier.
We will also make reasonable efforts to advertise and refill the available place.
A refund will be issued only after the replacement participant has confirmed their booking and completed the required payment.
If the place cannot be filled, the original cancellation terms will continue to apply.
Any additional cost caused by transferring an international booking, changing a named traveller or amending supplier reservations may be deducted from the refund.
We will explain and provide evidence of such costs where required.
Single-Model Studio Days and Sessions
For an experience built around one named model, that model is an important part of the booking.
If the participant cancels, the general participant cancellation terms above will apply.
If the named model becomes unavailable, we may offer:
a suitable replacement model of a comparable professional standard;
a rescheduled date;
a transfer to another suitable experience;
a credit toward a future booking; or
an appropriate refund where the booked service cannot be delivered substantially as described.
We will consult affected participants whenever reasonably possible.
Multi-Model Days and Group Experiences
Multi-model events involve many independent people and moving parts. Advertised model, stylist, makeup artist, hairstylist, educator, crew and contributor line-ups may occasionally change because of illness, travel disruption, emergencies or circumstances outside our control.
If one member of a larger advertised team becomes unavailable, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a replacement of a comparable professional standard.
The experience will continue where its overall content, quality, duration and value remain substantially as described. A change to one person within a larger line-up will not automatically entitle a participant to cancel or receive a full refund.
If no replacement can be found and the overall experience is materially reduced, we will offer an appropriate adjustment, which may include additional shooting time, alternative creative content, a partial credit or a proportionate refund.
Workshops, Masterclasses and Camera Club Sessions
Workshop content, educators, models, demonstrations, sets, locations and schedules may occasionally need to change.
We may make reasonable changes that preserve the overall purpose, quality and value of the experience.
If a principal educator or essential element is cancelled and we cannot offer a comparable alternative, participants will be offered a rescheduled date, transfer, credit or refund for the affected booking.
A participant who arrives late, leaves early or chooses not to take part in part of the programme will not normally receive a partial refund.
International Tours, Retreats and Overseas Experiences
International bookings are subject to separate event-specific payment and cancellation schedules because accommodation, locations, transport, staff, models and other suppliers may require substantial advance and non-refundable payments.
The applicable deposit, instalment dates, final balance deadline and cancellation schedule will be supplied before booking.
Cancellation charges may increase as the departure date approaches and more supplier commitments become non-recoverable.
Any charge will reflect reasonable losses and costs that cannot be recovered.
Participants are responsible for checking and arranging, unless expressly included:
passports, visas and entry requirements;
flights and other independent travel;
travel and medical insurance;
vaccinations and health requirements;
baggage and equipment insurance; and
appropriate cover for cancellation, curtailment, illness and disruption.
Do not book independent flights or accommodation until the Atelier has confirmed that the experience will proceed.
Where an international experience is legally classified as a package or linked travel arrangement, the participant’s rights under applicable package-travel legislation will take priority over any conflicting term in this policy.
Partial Attendance and Independent Accommodation
Shorter attendance, half-day places, day access or non-residential options may be available by prior written agreement.
Leaving early or attending only part of an experience does not automatically reduce the price because a full participant place may still have been reserved.
Participants wishing to arrange their own accommodation during an international experience must receive written confirmation before booking it. Any revised price and the services still included will be confirmed individually.
Changes Made by the Atelier
We may make reasonable changes to timings, schedules, sets, locations, accommodation, models, educators, crew or other arrangements where necessary.
For minor changes that do not materially reduce the experience, the booking will continue and no refund will normally be due.
If we make a significant change, affected participants will be told as soon as reasonably possible and offered an appropriate option, which may include accepting the change, transferring to another experience, receiving credit or obtaining a refund for the affected service.
Cancellation by the Atelier
If the Atelier cancels an entire experience and cannot provide a suitable alternative or rescheduled date, payments made directly to the Atelier for the cancelled service will be refunded.
Unless required by law, we are not responsible for independently booked flights, hotels, transport, visas, equipment hire or other associated expenses.
Participants should use flexible bookings and obtain suitable insurance.
Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Events may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, epidemic, government restrictions, war, civil disturbance, strikes, transport disruption, venue closure, supplier failure, serious illness or other emergencies.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and will communicate any necessary changes.
The options available will depend on whether the experience can safely and substantially proceed and which payments can be recovered from suppliers.
Nothing in this clause removes any statutory rights that apply to the booking.
Participant Conduct, Consent and Safety
All participants must behave professionally and respectfully toward models, staff, venues and other guests.
Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, unwanted physical contact, pressure to exceed agreed modelling levels, unsafe behaviour or disregard for instructions will not be tolerated.
We may remove a participant whose conduct creates a safety, consent or welfare concern. Any refund will depend on the circumstances and the reasonable losses caused.
Participants must respect each model’s agreed boundaries and levels at all times. A model may change or withdraw consent for a pose, level or activity at any point.
Experiences involving artistic nudity are restricted to participants aged 18 or over unless expressly stated otherwise.
Photography, Image Use and Releases
Photographers are responsible for ensuring that their use of images complies with the applicable model release, usage agreement, competition rules and law.
Images must not be used in a misleading, defamatory, exploitative or unlawful manner or outside any agreed usage restrictions.
Permission to photograph behind-the-scenes material, sets, staff or other participants must be obtained before doing so.
Any photography or video created by the Atelier for event documentation or promotion will be handled in accordance with our privacy information and any consent arrangements communicated to participants.
Health, Accessibility and Personal Requirements
Please tell us before booking about any accessibility requirements, allergies, medical considerations or other needs that may affect participation.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual requirements, but not every location or activity will be suitable for every person.
Participants remain responsible for deciding whether an experience and its activities are appropriate for them and for seeking medical advice where necessary.
Personal Property and Equipment
Participants are responsible for their own cameras, equipment, clothing and personal belongings.
We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage unless caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.
Appropriate equipment and travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Liability and Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made or for business losses suffered by someone booking wholly for business purposes, except where the law provides otherwise.
Questions and Complaints
If you have a concern before, during or after an experience, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have a reasonable opportunity to address it.

Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in this clause removes any right a consumer may have to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom where applicable.
